Thursday 21st March – Bike *** Felixstowe to Trimley – mainly cloudy.

After a constructive morning at home it was time to get the bikes out for the first time in two months! Having just bought a windsurfing foil I was keen to go to local chandlery Seamark Nunn at Trimley St Martin for some bits and pieces. So, after lunch Mag and I headed there along the road, stopping at a carpet shop as we have big plans for our house this year. I had mixed fortune at the chandlery but the assistant Henry, the son of a windsurfing friend was very helpful:) Then we took a footpath directly opposite Seamark we have never noticed before leading down to the railway line where we helped a young mother carry her buggy over the two styles. Then we turned right along a farm track to look at a flock of sheep feeding in a field of cauliflowers:) We soon made it to thre farm at the top of the track down to Loompit Lake which is the start of the nice tree lined route back to Felixstowe. A large lorry was unloading recycled compost and we saw birdwatching fiend Robin out on his electric bike. The tree arch route back was as pretty as ever and the usual herd of deer were happily eating the farmers wheat. We then bumped into Maggie Coles and her daughter Jenna out walking their new family member, Ted the black springer and very handsome he was too:) Stopping off at Morrisons for ice cream we got home after being out 2 hrs. 20 mins covering ten miles, nice to be out on the bikes again although my hydraulic brakes are very poor now and need replacing! I was hoping to go windsurf foiling for the first time tomorrow but I don’t think the bolts I need to fit the foil to the board will be here so I might have to postpone that adventure!
